Re: ARAM Systems exhibit stand at the 2008 Society of Exploration Geophysicists convention in Las Vegas.

In 2008 ARAM Systems Ltd. was sold to ION Geophysical Corporation in a transaction which promised to combine the largest independent manufacturer of land seismic recording systems (ARAM) with the largest manufacturer of land and marine seismic equipment, software and services (ION). Simultaneous to this transaction, ARAM Systems was planning the launch of a new system the “ARIES II” seismic recorder. The major public roll-out for both of these events was the 2008 convention of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) in Las Vegas, Nevada; November 9 – 12, 2008.

ARAM Systems marketing personnel met with Displayco Canada’s Trevor Packard very early in the planning phase for the SEG convention to develop a plan for ARAM’s booth that would most effectively support the company’s objectives of developing interest in the new product launch, communicating the integration of the two companies in a way that both customer sets would be comfortable with, and generating a high level of excitement and awareness surrounding the two communications objectives.

Trevor designed a booth layout that was both highly functional (two boardrooms and a lounge area allowed simultaneous private meetings with up to three different groups of clients) and exceptionally comfortable and approachable for walk-on traffic.

Displayco produced graphical elements that were used as visual cues that tied the ARAM booth together with our ION partners and to support a retro theme that we used to communicate the idea that ARAM products were “built the way things used to be built, to last”. The booth integrated a turntable, which we used to showcase a Harley Davidson motorcycle that we gave away at the show, as leveraged support for the “enduring value” concept implicit in our retro theme.

We were extremely pleased with the booth. It performed beyond our expectation in terms of drawing traffic, promoting dialog with industry and clients, and supporting the launch of our new product. Comments from other marketing professionals in attendance at the show were universally positive and, often, envious of the layout, appearance and success of our booth.
